Developing what Angola is yet to see.
An unmet need in the market
Angola is home to nearly 900,000 people aged 65 and over—a demographic that has expanded by 46% in the last decade. Despite this, high-quality private residential care remains virtually non-existent. Families with the means are often forced to manage alone, providing care at home without clinical support or sending loved ones abroad. Orchid Care was founded to change this. We provide a rigorous standard of clinical care, purpose-built for Angola rather than simply imported from elsewhere.
Why now
Angola’s elderly population is growing by approximately 3% annually. For the first time, the nation’s middle and upper classes have reached the scale required to sustain premium private care services. Furthermore, the Angolan insurance sector is actively seeking new products that it currently cannot offer, simply because the necessary infrastructure does not yet exist.
What we are building
In collaboration with select partners, we are developing Angola’s first international-standard residential care concept—designed from the ground up for the local context. Detailed project specifications are shared directly with partners during the due diligence phase.
